The Mike Fritz Community Builder Award was created to honor Mike Fritz, the local business owner whose vision and generosity helped to found the Communities That Care Coalition in 2002.
The award is given to a community member who demonstrates vision and/or leadership in integrating the programs, policies, practices or goals of the Communities That Care Coalition into their own agency, institution, or work for the betterment of the community.
Previous Mike Fritz award winners include: Kristie Faufaw of Ryan and Casey Liquor (2008), Bryan Smith of the Greenfield Youth Commission (2009), Sergeant Robbie Haag of the Orange Police Department (2010), Mandii Singleton, Alyssa Sutton, Cheyenna Woodard, Andy Sutton, Zeb Herzig, Alexx Badillo, Matt Lee, Juliana Sheinheit, and B.J. Miller from The 84 Project at Community Action Youth Programs (2011), Donna Woodcock of Greenfield High School (2012), Jared Libby of the Brick House (2013), Lucinda Brown of Reinventing Justice (2014), Corey Sanderson of Second Congregational Church (2015), Cheryl Dukes (2016), Sherry Patch (2017), Dana Mengwasser (2018), Yves Salomon-Fernández of Greenfield Community College (2019), and Kia Burton-King of Community Action Family Center (2020).
